RECAP: EVP's WSDN & PSDA Record-Breaking Week!

Another WSDN and PSDA record-breaking week for Evolution Powersports!

Starting with Michael Reid and his Can-Am X3 “Batmobile” outfitted with an EVP P43-R turbo system breaking the Professional Sand Drags Association (PSDA) Open UTV 43mm Turbo Record. Mike drove the Batmobile to a blistering ET of 3.794 in 300’ at the 2023 Cajun Nationals in Louisianna.

One of the things that makes this record a particularly hard one is the fact that the PSDA sanctioning body requires that the record is set during an actual race. You cannot rent out a track and make countless passes to set a record. Another rule PSDA has to further qualify records is once a record has been set in a race, the vehicle must be immediately teched by officials—straight from the pass. Congratulations, Michael!

Next up was Hunter Law from R&R Motorsports at the Dome Valley Sand Outlaws race running a Can-Am X3 that's also outfitted with an EVP P43R turbo system. Hunter was able to set a new World Sand Drag News (WSDN) (E/UTV) E/Pro UTV 43mm Turbo MPH World Record in 300’ with a smokin' 86.66 mph—smashing the previous WSDN record.

The car/driver package was at Sand Outlaws weight, meaning it had all the required safety equipment on the car and was not stripped down just to set records. Congratulations, Hunter!

Last, but not least, Raphael Vargas, also from R&R Motorsports, and his Can-Am X3 with EVP P46R turbo system achieved a ridiculously fast 92.20 mph. He couldn't back this speed up within 1%, but he still smashed the previous 46mm Turbo WSDN (D/UTV) D/Pro UTV MPH Record with a valid 90.40 mph in 300’.

The car was also at full Sand Outlaws weight and not some stripped-down car with a light driver. Once again, this shows how R&R Motorsports chassis setups, EVP Paragon Turbo Systems, and EVP Tuning can propel you to both world records and racing wins. Congratulations, Raphael!

Michael Reid and Hunter Law’s Paragon P43R Turbo Systems are both tuned on the stock BRP ECU by EVP Co-Owner Jim Zuccone. Raphael’s P46R Turbo System was tuned on an Emtron ECU by EVP's Brandon Toole.
